Frank Discussions Scheduled to Gain Community Solutions to Challenges for City Growth
Little Rock, AR (September 12, 2017) – Advocating for infrastructure upgrades and innovation in economic investment and solutions for public safety, Frank Scott, Jr. announced Tuesday at frankscottjr.com that he is exploring a run for Little Rock Mayor. Scott, a native of Little Rock, will host a series of conversations, Frank Discussions, with individuals and organizations to develop common-sense solutions and new approaches to overcoming obstacles to public safety, improving public school systems, and growing Little Rock’s economy.
Scott, who grew up and currently resides in Little Rock’s southwest community, attended Little Rock public schools and earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He is a banker, associate pastor at his church, and in 2017 completed nearly three and a half years of service as an Arkansas State Highway Commissioner. Scott also shaped Arkansas public policy as Deputy Policy Director and later as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs in Governor Mike Beebe’s administration.
“Our city is at a crossroads. We require an evolving vision and new direction that find pathways for thriving communities,” Scott said. “I want to work with the people of Little Rock to define this vision together.”
“Most people didn’t believe a kid from southwest Little Rock would grow up to do these things, and many may not believe that same kid can become mayor of the state’s largest city,” Scott said. “But anything is possible if we marry vision and purpose to our potential.”
